Well, it depends on when you plan to start making your Water Kefir?
If you’re ready to get started right away, then live grains are your best choice. You’ll be enjoying your own Water Kefir Soda in the shortest amount of time. If you plan to start later or need to travel with your grains, then dehydrated grains are the ones for you.
Live Water Kefir Grains
Live grains let you get started right away and skip the re-hydration step. GoGo Kefir live grains are packaged directly from active fermentation and are shipped the same day by first class mail. This ensures the grains arrive “ready to go” with the least amount of stress to the cultures. With fresh, live grains, it’s important to place the grains in room temperature sugar water as soon as they arrive. This helps re-balance and rejuvenate the grains after their journey in the mail. Dehydrated Water Kefir Grains
Dehydrated (dried) grains are the best choice if you don’t plan to get started right away or are traveling with your grains. GoGo Kefir Dehydrated Grains are taken from active fermentation then carefully dried using room temperature air in our custom dehydrator. This ensures the grains are fully dried and at the same time will snap back to life when re-hydrated. Dried grains can also be stored in the freezer for up to 6 months. Re-hydration is a simple process that takes about 48 hours.
